Lost and Found!

Havasu is by far the best fishery in the Southwest for small mouth bass period!! The Won Bass tournament was a great time and taught me more about sight fishing. Sight fishing can be very difficult and yet super easy depending on how you look at it. I had tons of beds marked throught this tournament and came to the realization that the fish were moving on the beds later in the day rather than in the morning. The first day was pretty windy and some of the deeper beds were harder to fish and the shallow beds had the little bucks on them but wouldn't help to contribute to an 18 pound bag needed to cash a check. The second day the wind seemed to die down in most areas and we were able to locate our larger fish but they didn't want to cooperate. I am not sponsored by power pole but will definitely have one on my boat for next years tournament along with a push pole. The fish were really dialed in and were very skid dish with all the pressure the lake has had for the last month. Being Stealthy is super critical to catching the quality bags that came out of this tournament. Another thing I will have to remember is fishing the cages more slowly. We saw lots of 4, 5 and 6 pound fish just swimming around waiting to move up. In short this was a learning experience for me and will build upon that for the next sight fishing tournament. Your probably wondering where the lost in found title stems from so here goes....
On day two I filled up my truck and boat and somehow dropped my wallet between the gas station and launch ramp. After coming in to weigh my fish I didn't realize I lost my wallet and John Galbrieth who owns the tackle shop said some fine citizen of Havasu turned in your wallet!!! All my cash (320.00) and all my credit cards were right there untouched!!! So a special thanks to the fine upstanding citizen of Lake Havasu City for doing the right thing in such a tough time... So in short I was a little lost out there trying to get the big ones to go but someone found my wallet.. How cool is that..
Anyway, on to the next event which is the California Delta. Special recognition goes to Shaun Bailey and Jay Pennington who won on the pro and co side!!! The bait of choice for most of the fisherman on the lake was the Klicka Special. You can order yours today right here.

Baits of choice were canyon plastics gitzit tubes:Klicka Special, White, texas rigged with 1/4 oz. 6,8,10,12, lb sunline FC sniper. This is the best line I have ever thrown and you can view there website here.
