Lake Roosevelt Won Bass wide open bite!

Lake Roosevelt Won Bass pro am was a great fishing trip!! The water level was at 67% which always makes for a good bite when the water is low here.  The fishing was fantastic and every angler team brought in limits the first day!  Launching from Cholla I ran down to the salt end where there were tons of bass chasing the spawing shad to quickly get a limit.. My game plan was to stay down there until about 10 every morning and come back up to the main part of the lake and go deep for the big ones... After losing some some quality 2.5 lbers during both days I knew it wasn't in the cards for me this tournament to cut a check.  I had the right game plan but it didn't come together as planned so I fished hard for the points.

     Anyway the baits of choice for this tournament were the new hammer shad and a new prototype color called the Klicka Shad.  They just flat out killed fish all day long!  I was drop shotting a fish arrow Flash J shad, and some japanese plastics also made from fish arrow company!  The Damiki DC 400 blue head did a lot of damage as well!  Pretty standard pattern for me reaction till 10.  Slow down go deep until 2 and then back to reaction baits until weigh in.      The bite for me was great till 10am but was dead until 2 pm everyday. I think the supermoon had the fish a little mixed up but thats the way it goes.  We had a great time over the weekend celebrating Mike's and my Birthday.. Jennifer from Lobina Lures actually stopped by and watch the weigh in so it was always nice to hang out and have the fellowship with  my extended fishing family.  Currently I am tied for 10th place in the south and 8th place over all AOY.  I am tired of being in the one fish out of the money club and looking to make a statement up at Clear lake at the end of May!!!  Have a great and safe Memorial Day!  Special thanks as always to my sponsors Lobina Lures, Mattress Depot, A and M graphics, Reactor Watches, Fish Arrow Co.  Without you guys this would not be possible... 17hr drive to clear lake at the end of the month let see what happens!!!!
